Protestors Arrested for Challenging Police, DA

Ten were arrested during a gathering involving Police Commission Charles Ramsey, District Attorney Seth Williams, and NAACP leader Rodney Muhammad. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss Northeast Philadelphian’s concerns about rising crime in the area. Shortly before the meeting, DA Seth Williams announced his decision not to prosecute two police officers who fatally shot Brandon Tate-Brown during a car stop on December 15, 2014.

The attendees were arrested after booing Ramsey and Williams, and chanting “Shame!”  The protestors screamed and pointed their fingers at the two government officials.  According to reports, the protestors then became unruly.  Ten group members were loaded into police vans and taken from the scene.
